Rollback AMD Upgrade

A common question from my manager is how my team would backout of an AMD upgrade if it fails or there are errors once the AMDs begins collecting data again.

I know that going back to an old version is not recommended, but what would the proper process be if it had to be done?

Thanks,
Patrick

Hi Patrick, I am curious too if there is a formal procedure.
I have done this a few times in the past, just by doing a (re)install of the older version.

The supported procedure is:

  1. Backup AMD configuration (rtm.config, applications.xml, protocols.xml, keylist, keys, v2page.properties, page2trans.properties, page2trans.xml)
  2. Uninstall AMD software,
  3. Install lower build of AMD software.
  4. Revert the configuration backed up if the version was within same SP/GA, otherwise should be used the backup from original version from before failed upgrade. So to be secured config backup should be taken before every upgrade. Each upgrade also should do it automatically in /tmp/.

I figured that the procedure was similar to that, but wanted to verify.  Thank you for the quick response!
