Setting AMD password with sha-512 hash in users.xml

First of all, the username and password in the users.xml file for rtmgate can be anything. They do not have to be a user in the system, like the original compuware user. This id is just used to connect to the rtmgate process - for the RUM Console, or the CAS/ADS to pull data.

First, from the AMD command line generate a password for the new rtmgate user with:

echo -n PasswordYouWantToUse | openssl dgst -sha512

Modify /usr/adlex/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/users.xml

Add a new section, or modify the original with the username/password:

<role rolename="gate" />

<user password="c86680b1fa907c90dfa86a07e7d03906861608a00ff986865ad81f9ac6896b9d55adb255cb39547b9d05a687e3ae467f00acd302f0f94a6e93ade3fafe71eb73" roles="gate" username="somenewuser" />

**For the password parameter – enter the one generated from the command line with openssl

Save the file

Restart the key services:

Service rtmgate restart

Service cba-agent restart

In the RUM Console – change the AMD connection settings and test the connection.

The RUM Console will prompt to update references – let it.

Publish the updated references to the CASs and ADSs that are using that AMD.

The RUM Console, CAS/ADS will now use the new username and password to communicate with the AMD.
