Hi!

Employees of IT security our customer ask about using suid for files

/var/usr/adlex/rtm/bin/pldset and
/var/usr/adlex/rtm/bin/netset

Can we change rights for this files?

Or explain, please, neccessity of using this suid.

DC RUM 12.4

Thank you,

Dmitry

Hi Dmitry,

Both tools, pldset and netset, are used to configure the AMD.

The “suid” has been added for these tools to allow non-root users to use
them.

If in your case only root user is going to use the tools you could
safely remove “suid” for both “tools”.

Keep calm and build Community!

Hi,Karolina!

Thank you for answer.

Could you tell me also which rights can we use for this files? 645 will be enough?

645 doesn't really make sense...

I would sooner say 750 or 550. If you are disabling the SUID bit, it makes no sense to allow everyone execute as only root would be able to effective use the tools.
