Our customer has noticed us that C:\ProgramFiles\Dynatrace\CAS\trafficData directory in CAS is amounting a lot of space (5GB).
What is it saved in this directory? Could we delete it?
I looked find in the Administration Console in CAS any property related with it without success.
Can anyone help me, please?

This is a default directory where CAS stores all the "On-demand" data.
This is an optional functionality.
Depending on user aggregation configuration CAS could store only aggregated users in database ("Client from ...") but the detailed data for the users that are included in the aggregate is still available. When a certain report is executed CAS process the narrowed data from the "trafficDetails" directory, stores it in temporary database tables and shows the detailed data on the report.
Please check the CAS configuration screen. You can disable the functionality there or change the storage size.
Please be aware that trafficDetails is also used for servers aggregation if Autodiscovery is enabled.

That is the on demand data for aggregated CAS data. Basically most of the auto discovery software services store aggregated data in the DB but you can drill down to the not aggregated data that is stored in that directory.
You can turn this off or adjust the length of time it is kept for under the CAS configuration menu.
A restart is needed.
To be more specific, You can move them while CAS service is running but the reports based on on-demand data won't work till the service is restarted. CAS will simply look for indexes and the oddata files in the former path.
