What could be the impact of increase the Maximum Packet Size?
I have a client using packages of unknown size, and the NIC was dropping packets at driver livel, because it was receiving packages too big.
After changing the size to 2048Bytes there are almost none dropped packets for that reason, but we still receive some that could be too big.
So Im guessing about increase again the Maximum Packet Size, what I'm wondering is if this changes will have some impact in the AMD (High Speed) cpu, memory... or if this does not matter the size.

We had face the same issue in the past and for the remedy we increased the Maximum packet size value with the combination of Huge packet size to mitigate the situation.
The only prerequisite was the memory increase in our case because enabling the AMD to process nonstandard MTU packets the extended memory was required as per the recommendation and we had never faced the CPU situation.
