Why am I prompted to login to NAM from a Dynatrace drill down? I am sure I'm missing a configuration item on NAM, but I'm not sure what it is.

The Dynatrace token has been added to the NAM Server configuration and the connection test was successful.

@William S., the token is required for the internal communication between the components. The only way to avoid logging in when following links between Dynatrace and NAM and vice versa is to configure the same SAML based single sign-on for both Dynatrace and NAM. Both have this capablity:

NAM: Single Sign-On (SSO)

Dynatrace Managed: Manage users and groups with SAML

@Jaroslaw O.Thanks. Is this for Dynatrace Managed only or can this be used with Dynatrace SaaS as well?

I believe it should also work with SaaS, provided SSO IdP used for SaaS will work with NAM. We will validate that in coming days with our lab demo setup.
