kernel upgrade on AMD : is there an impact ?

Hi all,

I need to install a linux security patch. The AMD will boot an other kernel version :
old kernel : kernel-2.6.32-504.1.3.el6.x86_64

new kernel : kernel-2.6.32-642.6.2.el6.x86_64

I use customized driver (rtminst) on RHEL 6.6

Do you know if the customized driver will still work or if i need to compile the driver again ?
And if i need to compile, how to do that ?

In my point of view, i think it will work without a new compilation, because it is not a major kernel upgrade (2.6.32 -> 2.6.32), but can anybody confirm ?

Didier.

What version of the AMD software do you use?

12.3.10.11 (I got it from the Dev team)

Yes, it's supported and the recompilation is mandatory and will occur automatically.

Thanks Adam !

The AMD kernel upgrade is finished without any issue. Perfect !
