sampling controlled drops related to what traffic

Hi All,

It seems I got lots of "sampling - controlled drops" on my AMD, is there a way to know which kinds of port traffic related to such drops and filter it out? I've checked AMD's CPU and Memory are very low.

Any ideas are welcome.

Thx.

Sylvian

Hi Sylvian

Sampling controlled drops is when the AMD received to much traffic and to protect the measurements drops some of the traffic. It is not related to a specific type of traffic but is rather about dropping whole sessions instead of parts of multiple sessions.

How much traffic does your AMD receive?

I would log in to the AMD, run rtminst, select amd setup and check the RTM data memory limit is set to the recommended value.

Hi Alasdair,

Yes, data memory limit is set to recommended value. I think the reason that causes sampling drop because of the Native driver.

Nevertheless, with autodiscovery turn on, I always want to filter out selected traffic such as "Other TCP" and "Other UDP". 🙂
