Add log file to other process

Hello,

Simple question, can I add a log file to an other process? (no java or .net)

@Henk S. Yes you can. If Dynatrace does not automatically detect log files you can also add them into the definitions. You just need to access the process in question, select edit and navigate to log monitoring. From there you will be able to define the log name to detect. But, you must have log monitoring enable first!

Hi Chad,

Dynatrace gave me a not allowed for a certain file , so that confused me. Now I also know about the config file to allow unknown logs...

Yes the detection has rules and can be a bit finicky. This document will detail the requirements and limitations.
