Allow AIX kernel extension vs. NetApp Storage

Dear All,

Today we encountered within an issue related to the Allow AIX kernel extension in our non-production servers.

Following issues we were getting:

  1. Unable to run “bosboot -a” commands.
  2. Unable to run “sanlun lun show” commands.
  3. Automatically Core file created where we execute any command.

The issue has been fixed after disabled the Allow AIX kernel extension feature.

The following are initial findings:

The issue is only coming on Non-Production servers (OS is same on both Non-Production and Production servers, the only difference is storage) We are using NetApp storage on Non-Production servers and EMC storage on Production servers.

This issue is coming only on NetApp storage servers. We are not facing this issue on Production servers which are running on EMC storage.

Did anyone experience a similar situation?

Regards,

Babar

@Babar Q. I would recommend letting chat/support know of this as well as maybe post an RFE to let the product development teams know as well.

Dear All,

I would like to share the findings of the said issue. The issue was related to the Dynatrace and Symantec drivers running simultaneously on the host, and they are not compatible together at all.

Dynatrace is working on it find the workaround to make sure that both agents can live together.

Regards,

Babar
