Doesn't the script that backs up a cluster in Dynatrace on prem deletes the existing backup file and writes a new backup?

I have a nfsshare of 300 GB but the cluster backup is failing daily saying insufficient space. It looks like I need to add more space even though I have enough space available.

It has been changed in version 1.204 - see release notes:

Previous metric storage and configuration data backups are now removed once the new backups are completed. This ensures that at least one backup is present at all times. This means that twice the normal amount of disk space is required to store both the newest and the most recent backups.
