How to Monitor Incoming Traffic by Pages/Requests and Analyze Its Composition?

Hi everyone,

We are looking for advice on how to configure Dynatrace for our use case, as we haven’t found any built-in metrics that fit our needs.

Our goal is to visualize the incoming traffic generated by a specific Service, split it by Pages/Requests, and then further break it down to analyze what the traffic consists of (e.g., file sizes of .js scripts, CDN resources, etc.).

I initially tried working with the "Traffic In" metric at the Process Group level for our service, but I couldn’t find a way to split it by Pages/Requests. I also checked the bandwidth-related metrics listed here in Data Explorer and Multidimensional Analysis, but none seem to fit our needs.

I assume that creating a custom metric is necessary to make this data available in DE/MDA under "Applications", but most of the built-in metrics there seem to focus on response times.

The only section where I found relevant information about element sizes within pages is in User Sessions → Session Details → Waterfall Analysis, but it doesn’t seem to be usable for an aggregated view.

Has anyone faced a similar challenge? What would be the best approach to achieve this level of traffic analysis?

Thanks in advance!
