Hello @sundarv1

Under Manage > Settings > Monitoring > OS services monitoring

  • Define a policy based on the OS, it's applied as of now to Linux and Windows.
  • A policy id dedicated to Unique OS either Windows or Linux can't be applied for both.
  • You have multiple options to Monitor  / Alert  / Alert if the service is not installed
  • As an example specify the service status condition for alerting $eq(failed) or as per the monitoring requirements.
  • Configure the detection rules according to the scope (Host / OS Service).
  • Configure the service property (Service name / Startup Type=Automatic)
  • Additional key value pairs "Properties" that will be attached to the triggered event.
  • Then you can create a metric event either though data explorer after specifying the matching criteria or through the Metrics UI under Observe and explore.
  • Finally you will reach the Metric event configurations to specify the alerting conditions.

Hoping it adds value.

BR,

Peter.

Hi Peter

1. We have currently configured policy to alert in Settings->Monitoring-OS Monitoring - as per attached screenshot
2. In the same policy we have configured few services not to alert if it matches service name

Issue is currently for point 1 it is going to availability event, how do we change it resource event.

Hi @sundarv1

Under the metric event configurations, you can set the alert as resource or custom as per the monitoring requirements or DT admin preferences.

BR,

Peter
