oneAgent running on activeGate reinstall issue

Hello,

After reinstalling activeGate software, the installation hangs everytime. Reason: Not able to connect to the Managed Cluster.

After uninstalling the deployed oneAgent, the AG installation works again.

Who has seen this in there environment, and could there be an explanation for this?

KR Henk

Hello @henk_stobbe

Hoping my message finds you well.

Regarding the highlighted concern:

  • OneAgent sends the monitoring signals to the intended AG and accordingly to the Managed cluster as long as the communications rules are configured properly to ensure that there is no blocking or signal interference.
  • Referring to the attached doc URL with a slight different change instead of managed it's SaaS: https://docs.dynatrace.com/docs/manage/network-zones/oneagent-connectivity
  • The attached URL shows how the Oneagent can connect to the cluster directly or through the AG.
  • Referring to the allocated resources to the AG and Cluster nodes, it's the main cause for the hang and instability, so the suggested solution increasing the allocated resources to afford the current setup and it's complexities.
  • Regarding the Connectivity to the managed cluster, it can be validated.
  • For the AG Cache it can be flushed, to avoid related performance issue.
  • Validating the network zones setup that reflect the actual monitoring setup would be an added value.
  • For the uninstallation of monitoring components: deleting the Oneagent old installation directories on Win or Linux is required before starting a new fresh deployment the same goes for the AG.
  • For the oneagent the connectivity issue might be related to https://docs.dynatrace.com/docs/ingest-from/dynatrace-oneagent/installation-and-operation/windows/in...

Hoping it helps.

KR,

Peter
