View XHR Requests as Resources in Waterfall View

Hello, my application loads static template files via jQuery AJAX. I would like Dynatrace to treat these templates as Resources in the Waterfall View, instead of showing them as XHR requests.

I have tried resource type rules with no success. What settings to I need to use to make this happen?

Thanks,

Ben

The Resource rules should have done the trick. ca you share with us the rules you put in place?

Man, I'm really hoping this doesn't come down to me being bad at Regex 😄

The files I want to match have double extensions, ".tmpl.html", so urls like this:

https://host/ClaimWFMgrWeb/jsRenderTemplates/Components/ErrorPanel_100000.tmpl.html
https://host/ClaimWFMgrWeb/jsRenderTemplates/Components/CheckBoxList_100000.tmpl.html
https://host/ClaimWFMgrWeb/jsRenderTemplates/Components/EditableDate_100000.tmpl.html

I tried several rule variants based on the example on the screen and what I thought would work. These are the ones I have set up:

Script / jsRender: ^.*\.tmpl\.html.{1}$

Other / Audio: ^.*\.tmpl.{1}$

Other / Font: ^.*\.tmpl.*

I'd prefer the match require both extensions, just to be strict since this configuration is global instead of application specific, but it's not a big deal. The first two I'm reasonably certain do not work, but the third one seems like it should have matched these files.

Hello @Ben M.

Try the following one.

(?:tmpl.html$)

@Chad T. Any other advice you have for figuring this out? I've fiddled with my rules, trying very broad regexes. I've confirmed that when a resource is identified as a Resource in the waterfall view, the Resource Type rule changes how the resource is grouped when viewing them grouped by resource type. However, nothing I've tried causes a file to move from XHR requests into Resource requests in the Waterfall view.
