Dynatrace EdgeConnect is deployed in your local network(s) to act as an HTTP proxy between the Dynatrace platform and your protected network(s). Dynatrace EdgeConnect connects to Dynatrace SSO and your platform environment via 443 HTTPS/WSS and keeps a WebSocket connection open. See further information in our documentation.

Hi! May I check what the difference is between an ActiveGate and EdgeConnect? It seems they both forward data to the Dynatrace SaaS cluster.

Thanks for your question. Dynatrace EdgeConnect runs and acts as a dedicated http proxy to give Dynatrace SaaS and platform applications access to on-premise systems. An architecture chart is shown here.

Hi Benjamin
We're working on the final documentation, as Edge Connect is still in preview. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Hi Michael ,
It is a protected web link. Could you add a doc link that our DT Community users can access ?
Thx
Tony

Hi Tony
EdgeConnect is currently still in preview and will GA mid of September. With that date the documentation should be available to every user.
Best regards
Michael
