Multi-environment activeGate to monitor 2 different AWS accounts from 2 separate dynatrace environments

Hi,

Has someone tried to reuse an active gate to configure the Dynatrace AWS integration from two different Dynatrace environments in Dynatrace managed offline license?

Current scenario.

Dynatrace Environment A – Configured to monitor AWS services and working properly, metrics from AWS account 1 reach Dynatrace.

-Environment active gates created, roles and policies attached.

- Role to get metrics from monitored account.

Procedure applied: https://docs.dynatrace.com/managed/ingest-from/amazon-web-services/set-up-aws-monitoring-with-manage...

Desired scenario.

Requirement: Dynatrace Environment B – add an integration with AWS to monitor AWS account 2, reusing the active gates that were for Environment A.

Executed:

  1. Procedure to configure active gates for multi-environment https://docs.dynatrace.com/docs/ingest-from/dynatrace-activegate/configuration/configure-an-environm...
  2. Adjusted AWS configuration to monitor the new AWS account 2 https://docs.dynatrace.com/managed/ingest-from/amazon-web-services/set-up-aws-monitoring-with-manage...
  3. In the Dynatrace Environment B – tried to add the integration with AWS account 2 using the new token (external id configured in AWS trust relationship). I get the error that the role does not exist or is misconfigured.
    1. My guess is that maybe there are more files that need to be updated in the active gates to be able to reuse them from environment B. In the deployment status page from environment B I do not see the active gates after performing step 1 and 2.  Which other files need to be changed?
    2. In theory both Dynatrace environments are running in the same aws cluster, I was told that if they have the same domain, that is the case. However, I do not install, that task is done by another team.  How is a cluster itself created in terms of infrastructure, EC2 instance(s) inside of the AWS account assigned for dynatrace? I would like to confirm that both environments belong to the same cluster.

Thank you!
