Product ideas

Dynatrace is a product-driven company, and you—our users—know best what’s needed to make Dynatrace even better. That’s why we’re committed to listening to your needs and turning them into actual product improvements.

 

What is a Product idea?

A Product idea is a suggestion for a new feature, enhancement, or improvement to Dynatrace. Whether it’s a minor tweak or a game-changing innovation, your ideas might help shape the product's future.

 

💡Tip: Only logged-in users can view and post in the Product ideas forum.

 

How to submit an idea?

We strongly encourage you to share your thoughts! Submitting an idea is easy - just follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Product ideas forum and click Suggest an idea
  2. Start typing in the Product idea subject field—this will show similar existing ideas so you can avoid duplicates.

   3. If your idea hasn’t been suggested yet, fill in the details in the description field.
   4. Use clear formatting to make your idea easy to read and get more votes from the other Community members.
   5. Add labels to help route your idea to the right Product Manager.

 

💡 Tip: To make submitting as easy as possible, the Product idea page includes a helpful step-by-step widget with examples of well-described ideas!

Track your idea’s progress

Once submitted, your idea is assigned to the Product Manager responsible for that specific product area and goes through a review and development process.

You’ll see status updates like:

If there are any obstacles along the way, you may see one of these statuses:

💡Tip: All the ideas you’ve submitted (and followed) can be tracked on your Profile page. So convenient! This way, you can stay up to date on progress, status changes, and discussions related to your contributions.

 

Browse Product ideas

In the Product ideas forum, you’ll find different statuses at the top of the page. Simply select a status to see all ideas currently in that stage of the review and development process.

 

You can filter Product ideas by Hot, Top, and New ideas.

Want to stay in the loop? Follow a status to get updates whenever an idea in that category progresses—so you’re always up to date.

Why voting matters

Don’t only submit—support other Product ideas by voting!

 

Community votes help us measure demand for new features. The more votes an idea gets, the higher the chance it moves up the priority list. While all ideas are reviewed, high-voted ones often get attention faster.

 

Product ideas review

🔹 Regular reviews: Product Managers assess ideas every few months, focusing on the most popular and well-described ones.

🔹 Collaboration: PMs may ask follow-up questions—responding quickly increases the chances of solving your problem.
