How does the Dynatrace Instance know that it’s a Security Gateway authorised to send data?

What is the trust mechanism for a Security Gateway to SaaS server connection? Do we use TLS?

Any response on this would be appreciated by a customer of mine.

By extent agent communication as well. Are having the correct environment id and environment token the only way we verify if an agent is allowed to send data? Do we use mutual authentication?
