Is there or will there be a way to perform internet backbone tests for specific targets in Dynatrace Synthetic like there was in Gomez or Classic Synthetic? Or is there a way to integrate 3rd party tools like Pingman or Pingplotter into Dynatrace?

For now there is no such option in Dynatrace. But after synthetic test you have purepaths as well (if application is monitored by oneagent). In this case you have some extra data for analysis to compare time spent on Web requests from both, user and server perspective. I know that we don’t have information about root cause of network problems, but it is always something in this case 🙂

Hi William, we have 3 possibilities:
- Private locations for HTTP monitors are already available in the product: https://www.dynatrace.com/news/blog/synthetic-http-monitors-for-private-locations-are-now-ga/
- You can also use our REST API to push external synthetic data into Dynatrace: https://www.dynatrace.com/news/blog/integrate-external-synthetic-data-with-dynatrace-via-api/
- You can join our early access program for private browser monitors: https://www.dynatrace.com/support/help/whats-new/eap-and-beta-programs/#expand-731161--private-brows...
