List of versions of Windows servers

I thought this was going to be an easy one 😂 It might be that I can't get an easy reply, because it's late here.

Anyway, I was trying to find an easy way to list my Windows Servers by versions, (2008, 2012, 2016, etc.), but haven't managed to get an answer. Tried filters, dimensions, etc. I'll probably be going the API route, but does anyone know of a shorter path to this answer?

Topology on Grail would be the easiest way. If that is at all an option for you then it can be done like:

Without Grail, you could use auto tagging and tag every host with its osVersion and then on the hosts page filter by that tag and each value to get a count for each osVersion. The placeholder for the tag would be {Host:OperatingSystemVersion}. I don't like that method but it's generally easier than scripting through the API unless you already have a script that does something similar and can be repurposed.

Hi @AntonioSousa

Alternatively, try using Tags - but I haven't tried that. I think the API option would be best.

Have a nice day!
