Export Dynatrace Log Query Results Beyond 1000 Row Limit

Summary: This post addresses the 1000-row export limit in Dynatrace log queries and provides solutions for retrieving complete datasets. It suggests using API-based exports and query optimisation techniques.

Hello dear community, I have a question. I need to export results from a log query that has more than 1000 records—there are approximately 30,000 records in total. Exporting every 1000 records individually is not feasible. Has anyone faced this issue, and how did you resolve it?

Hi @Ellery

I think you may increase this limit to 10 000 with this “samplingratio” :

fetch logs, samplingRatio:10000

Test it with 30 000 but this might not work.

This information can be found in the documentation : DQL best practices — Dynatrace Docs

Unfortunately, it didn’t work for me, as adding the limits doesn’t display any results.

My bad 😅
Try to add this command in last line of your query :

| limit 10000

Hello @Ellery ,

I Agree with @gbaudart, I use it on a notebook.
In addition, if you want to export the result, you can do it in CSV :
