IMO, k6 for opensource testing options. Can send data into Dynatrace using either Statsd or OTEL export options.
Also an active community that is constantly adding additions to the base for additional capabilities.
At the end of the day, doesn’t really matter which one you use; you’re not getting anything out of the box in Dynatrace, its all raw data. It’s all about training the PNV team to use Dynatrace & Dynatrace concepts (how services are captured) and how to source the data they need to build the required dashboards.
PNV Adoption will need to include learning topics like transaction naming, key transactions, SLO/SLI, multi dimensional analysis, dashboards, tracing, request attributes looking & potentially the new business events.
That’s without even moving onto the really fun topics like automating testing and validations : here’s some lite reading over a couple of blogs.
think along these lines, on deployment:
- trigger a default set of PNV tests
- get & validate the results (automated and based of SLI / SLO)
