Why no one lists a great series of Casa de Papel aka “Money heist”?
2 people! ![]()
I used to play every day a few years ago, lately it’s getting less and less.
My list:
- Band of Brothers - You have it all here, leadership, humanity, action, friendship… I think it’s by far the best series I’ve ever seen.
- X-Files - Yes, it’s old now, but it sets the stage for thousand very similar shows to come later.
- Chernobyl - I was a little boy when this happened, but in the series you can find the best and the worst of human behavior.
- Mad-Men. I guess a lot has been said about this great show. But the recreation of the atmosphere of that time is great.
- The IT Crowd. Well, this is a must for every IT worker. Hilarious.
I almost forgot to mention the Chernobyl series. It was amazing. Thanks Daniel to share it.
Lot of memories came in my mind. I was 12 at that time and it was not so far from my city (800km / 500 miles). It was frightening for us. My my brother-in-law was born in this year. He was choosen with other hungarian new borns and he was examined year by year when he was kid (affected or not affected by the radiation). Luckily he is healthy.
Was not expecting to see Fringe on anyone’s list!
Such a great show, completely underrated (at least, here in Portugal).
Watched it several times: always delivers!
So, I’m not going to put a lot of them, as I love most of the suggestions above. And there are also a lot of them to discover?
The remaining list of mine is the following:
- A-Team: One of my favorite professional quotes, by Hannibal Smith: “I love it when a plan comes together.”
- MacGyver: As a kid, I couldn’t get enough ideas to experiment

- Galactica. Probably the sci-fi series I still love the most. The original series, of course, specifically the 1980 series, when they discover Earth. So, so funny, on how extraterrestrial life can look at us!
MacGyver was one of my favorites from my childhood, everyone who saw it was eager to get a Victorinox.
I haven’t been playing as much :(. Whenever I get a chance I either play Anno 1800, Age of Empires games or Starcraft II.
Same here Mike! I don’t remember the last time I played the game.
Yes, Casa de Papel is one of my favorites, too!
Good to see the Age of Empires. I played a lot at my first workplace in the 90’s. After working hours we organized lan parties with pentium 100 and 14” crt. ![]()
Oh, forgot about “detective” shows… For me, Castle and especially The Mentalist.
Of course, Friends!
Not much of a traditional TV watcher: definitely a streaming fan, whenever I have the time ![]()
My list is:
- Breaking Bad **(**by far, my favourite TV series of all time)
- How I Met Your Mother
- Chernobyl
- The Simpsons
- Lie to Me
Many more came to mind, so I had to stick to the top 5 or I would go on forever ![]()
Some pretty interesting recommendations in this topic, I have to update my “to-watch” list!
List from me, in pretty much random order:
- Twin Peaks (especially The return)
- Breaking Bad / Better Call Saul
- The Wire and all other series from David Simon
- Bojack Horseman
- Rome
- Doctor Who
- Succession
- Neon Genesis Evangelion
- Community
- Veep
My recommendation to everyone is that,
- Naruto (Complete 700 Episodes)
- The Start up (K-Drama)
- Supernatural
- Vampire Dairies
- Alice (K-Drama)
- Arrow (DC Comics)
These series literally made me cry and kept me excited the whole time while watching it.
Let’s not forget about Brooklyn Nine-Nine. It is a highly-rated detective show around my place. Still I need to watch that one but I heard a lot about it.
