Welcome to the new Dynatrace Community: your migration FAQ

The Dynatrace Community has moved to a new platform, Discourse. This page explains what came with you, what works differently now, and what (if anything) you need to do.

Why did the Community move to a new platform?

We wanted to give you a faster, more modern Community built around how developers and practitioners actually work. Discourse gives us better performance, native Markdown, smarter search, and a look and feel aligned with Dynatrace products and documentation. It also gives us a stronger foundation for AI-powered features.

When did the move happen?

The Community switched to Discourse on Monday, October 26, 2026. It was in read-only mode from October 22 until the switch, so no posts or replies were lost during the transition.

Do I need a new account or password?

No. Your existing account came with you, and you can sign in with Dynatrace SSO.

What happened to my profile and activity history?

It all came with you: your profile, post count, likes, badges, and awards.

Did my posts and the Community content move over?

Yes. All of these were migrated:

• Posts and replies

• Solved questions, including their accepted solutions

• Articles

• Product ideas

• Groups

• The category structure

If you’re a DynaMight with access to private messages, your message history came with you too.

I can’t find my posts. What happened?

Before the move, we archived some outdated content. Archived content was hidden, not deleted. If you need to restore your content, please contact us at CommunityEcosystem@dynatrace.com

Will my old links and bookmarks still work?

Yes. Bookmarks, links shared in emails or documents, and search engine results all redirect to the right page on the new platform.

What do I need to set up again?

A few things work differently on Discourse, so they didn’t carry over:

• Notification settings and email subscriptions. Follow the topics and categories you care about to set these up again. See “How do I get notified” below.

• RSS feeds. You’ll need to subscribe again. On Discourse, you can add .rss to the end of most category or topic URLs to get a feed.

• Leaderboards. These start fresh for everyone, so everyone is on equal footing from day one.

How do I get notified about topics and categories I care about?

Open a topic or category and click the bell icon. Then choose a notification level:

• Watching: notifies you about every new reply.

• Tracking: shows a count of new replies, and notifies you if someone mentions you or replies to you.

• Normal: notifies you only if someone mentions you or replies to you.

• Muted: no notifications at all.

Categories also offer Watching First Post, which notifies you about each new topic but not about every reply.

To control how and when you get emails, click your avatar and go to Preferences → Emails.

Some terms have changed. What’s what?

What’s new in Discourse?

• Markdown editor. Write in native Markdown with a live preview. Code blocks get proper syntax highlighting.

• Clearer conversations. Quote part of a post or reply to a specific person, so it’s easy to see who’s responding to what.

• Real-time notifications. Get web and push alerts as things happen, with control over each topic and category.

• Faster search. Filter by category, tag, user, or solved status to find past answers quickly.

• AI-powered help. Use topic summaries to catch up on long discussions, and semantic search to find results by meaning, not just keywords.

How do I mark a reply as the solution to my question?

If you started the topic, click the Solution button under the reply that solved your problem. The solution is then highlighted at the top of the topic so others can find it quickly.

Why can’t I post links or images yet?

To keep the Community friendly and free of spam, new members start with a few posting limits. These lift automatically as you take part, by reading topics, replying, and getting to know the Community. Most members won’t notice them for long.

If a limit is getting in your way, for example, because you need to share a screenshot to explain an issue, email us at CommunityEcosystem@dynatrace.com and we’ll be happy to help.

Where can I learn more about using Discourse?
