I am checking metric related to Oracle DB then encounter the metric file descriptor as I checked their percentage difference from last week so please help me understand the meaning of file descriptor any one please explain me this metric meaning find Dynatrace snap below.

A high number of file descriptors might indicate a high level of database activity or possibly an issue with file handling.
