Event description not getting populated when the event is generated

When I create a custom log event then I define as below under event template, 

When the event is generated, I see as below

Question is why are generated event not getting populated with parameters defined in event description - 

{dt.active.gate.id} and {dt.entity.host} ?

Properties in the event is getting populated but not event description...

Thanks for the direction.. I was able to populate the placeholders based on available attributes in the log.

But the question is that if I'm monitoring SNMP Traps in active gate logs, won't the dt.active.gate.id be automatically be present in the log entries?
