Management of Server Shutdowns: Solutions for boot Failures After Maintenance

Good day experts,

We have a problem that I would like to share with you to see if you can give me a solution.

My company shuts down multiple non-productive servers in the cloud daily at nights and weekends, as they are not used and allows us to save something, to avoid alerts during this period of time we have created a maintenance window that is activated a few minutes before the shutdown begins and only affects the entities that carry a label to that effect. This works correctly and we do not receive any alerts from these entities.
Our problem is that once the maintenance window is over we would like to receive an alert if any entity with that tag is still off. That is, if for some reason the automation that starts the servers fails, we would like to know which of those servers are still down.

Have you had a similar use case, how did you solve it?

Thank you very much for your time and knowledge

Rgs,

Victor

Hi Víctor,

I think you can create a custom event using the metric that detects the servers are still down for this tag.

You can use Data Explorer to build it.

Hope it helps.

Regards,

Elena.
