For the second year in a row, FreedomPay welcomed Dynatrace experts to its Philadelphia headquarters for an in-person collaboration event focused on partnership, planning, and problem-solving. What made the gathering especially valuable was the chance to work side by side on strategic priorities and technical challenges that do not always surface through traditional support channels. The result was a more connected team, clearer alignment, and fresh momentum for the work ahead.

 Purpose of the Visit

At the center of the visit were three big priorities. The team spent time looking at how to future-proof FreedomPay’s use of the Grail API for stronger B2B observability offerings, how to move faster on the migration from Splunk to Dynatrace, and how to prepare for major platform changes coming across Dynatrace tenants. Together, these conversations helped confirm the technical direction, sharpen the roadmap, and reinforce the value of continuing the shift away from legacy tooling.

  • Shaping a future-ready strategy for the Grail API so FreedomPay can continue building stronger, more resilient B2B observability solutions with confidence.
  • Mapping out faster, clearer next steps for moving remaining Splunk use cases into Dynatrace and reinforcing the value of fully retiring legacy tooling.
  • Getting ahead of major Dynatrace tenant changes, including updates to tagging and primary tagging, the new service detection engine, the retirement of pre-Gen3 apps and experiences, and the expanding role of Dynatrace Intelligence and Remote MCP.

  Experience Highlights

One of the biggest advantages of meeting in person was the ability to have deeper conversations and faster decision-making. The event created room for candid discussion, hands-on brainstorming, and practical guidance on how to avoid common pitfalls while adopting new Dynatrace capabilities. It also made it easier for the teams to turn questions into action, keeping both immediate needs and long-term strategy in view.

  • Face-to-face time with the Dynatrace team made it easier to dig into complex technical topics and leave with clear, actionable next steps.
  • Brainstorming sessions built around Post-it notes were both highly productive and brilliantly colorful.

  • The team came away with practical ideas for avoiding pitfalls and adopting changes in the most effective way.
  • Open forum conversations created a fast, high-value way to work through technical and design questions together.
  • A couple of standout food experiences helped strengthen the connection between the teams beyond the day’s technical focus.
  • The event also featured the announcement of a brand-new initiative: Bird Planet.
  • And although office catering rules kept it off the menu, the rumored Dynatrace-branded pizza ovens still managed to make an appearance in conversation.
