Our MOM @t_pawlak is the kind of guy who lights up when someone says, “This takes too long” - because that’s his cue to automate it down to a single click.😉 What began with a love for computers and a Teleinformatics degree has evolved into a hands-on role at Omnilogy, where he helps clients master Dynatrace and automation. His story is packed with tech, teamwork, and a few unexpected twists - see for yourself!
Since childhood, I’ve been fascinated by both computers and economics. I used to say that I wanted to become either a “wolf of Wall Street” or an IT guy - and looking back, the second option turned out to be the better long-term investment.
In high school, I chose a mathematics and computer science track, and later I studied Teleinformatics at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology.
During my studies, I focused mainly on automation - I’ve always enjoyed simplifying things to the point where they could run automatically, ideally with just one click.
My professional journey began in the banking sector, where I worked with observability tools, initially open-source ones.
At that time, I also used IBM tools, which were standard in many enterprises.
That’s also when I first discovered AppMon, and later Dynatrace - along with my future colleagues from Omnilogy, who helped me further develop my passion for monitoring, automation, and modern IT solutions.
I currently work at Omnilogy as a Solution Consultant, where I help clients integrate Dynatrace into their environments, troubleshoot issues, and fully leverage the platform’s capabilities.
My role includes guiding them through integrations, teaching best practices, and showing how Dynatrace can help them achieve their business goals through smarter observability.
Beyond Dynatrace itself, I also focus on surrounding tools such as Monaco and Terraform, helping companies adopt the concept of Monitoring as Code.
Additionally, I work with Keptn, enabling organizations to automate quality gates and bring a modern approach to quality assurance in their CI/CD pipelines.
Together with clients, I often design entire deployment pipelines - from application rollout, through automated observability setup, to quality gates in Keptn and promotion across higher environments.
For me, the real magic happens when automation, observability, and business outcomes all come together.
With the team at Omnilogy.
I’ve always enjoyed understanding how things work, solving problems, and automating solutions - that’s why observability, automation, and Dynatrace naturally fit my mindset.
Dynatrace has allowed me to explore a wide range of technologies across different industries and made problem-solving much easier and faster.
I work with both Managed and SaaS deployments, depending on the customer’s platform, and with its advanced capabilities, I can quickly identify root causes and guide clients toward effective resolutions.
Interestingly, Dynatrace also helped me grow my soft skills.
Working with many clients has taught me how to present solutions more effectively, lead trainings on key functionalities, and communicate successfully in demanding technical and business environments.
Like most people, I first joined the Dynatrace Community looking for answers to specific questions. Over time, I realized that it’s actually an invaluable source of knowledge and inspiration.
"It’s a place where you can not only find solutions but also challenge yourself with interesting problems, discover new perspectives, and see how others approach similar situations."
In the Community, people genuinely share their insights, experiences, and best practices, which helps me grow - both technically and professionally.
That openness, support, and shared passion are what make me stay for the long run.
Not just sporty, also a team player!
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, friends, and animals.
I’m the proud owner of two amazing companions - Olaf, my border collie, and a rescue cat, both of whom never fail to brighten my day after work.
Sports have always been a big part of my life. I regularly play volleyball, go to the gym, swim, and occasionally try climbing.
Recently, I’ve also discovered a new passion for kickboxing, which perfectly combines fitness with stress relief.
I’m also a big fan of mountains and trekking – it’s my way to recharge and reconnect with nature.
Whenever I can, I take my girlfriend and my dog on hiking trips to the mountains - it’s the perfect way to unwind and reset.
It’s a fact - animal snuggles are the best remedy for stress. ❤️
Not everyone knows this, but I'm a huge fan of manga and anime - I can easily spend hours catching up on my favorite series. Together with my dog, I compete in dog frisbee tournaments, which is both fun and a great way to bond.
And here's a surprise - in my younger days, I worked as a lumberjack. 😉 It was a completely different world, but it taught me resilience and respect for nature.
On my bucket list, you'll find:
🔹 Seeing a Formula 1 race live, ideally in Monaco
🔹 Earning all Dynatrace certifications
🔹 Conquering Orla Perć, the most challenging and beautiful trail in the Polish Tatra Mountains
🔹 Visiting Switzerland and the Dolomites again - two places that never fail to amaze me
Unwinding in the mountains. And we have to admit, the Dolomites never fail to impress!
Professionally, I’m most proud of every achievement that helps my clients succeed - moments when my work helps them solve a problem, improve a process, or simply grow with more confidence.
Each of those moments brings me real satisfaction and reminds me why I love what I do.
For me, true success is when a client can operate faster, more efficiently, and with peace of mind, knowing that their environment is in good hands.
Thank you, Tomasz, for your thoughtful contributions and for being there to help Community members tackle their toughest challenges. Fingers crossed for ticking off your bucket list! 🤞
