I would like to know if there is any way to build a dashboard to chart/show Dynatrace Server Cluster nodes/ActiveGates server resource utilizations? We would like to use the statistics to perform capacity planning so that we know when we should size up or down the server. From the CMC we don't really see much at all.
This feature was available in Dynatrace AppMon via the Server Health dashboards. So, it will be good to have this feature in Dynatrace Managed as well.
Solved! Go to Solution.
It's not possible now. However:
1) We are working on some self-monitoring charts and data for ActiveGates - both Environment and Cluster ActiveGates, embedded into the product
2) We are working on providing you access to self-monitoring tenant so you will see a dashboard prepared by Dynatrace to see resource utilization of your cluster nodes and AG.
3) You can have full access to self-monitoring data if you subscribe to Dynatrace ONE Premium.
4) You can eventually configure your own self-monitoring instead of Dynatrace
This is something that is very needed. Will #1, #2 be available for SaaS environments, or only for Managed?
#1 will be SaaS and Managed
Others Managed only. We hope with #1 SaaS users will be good.
Is there an estimated version for having this available?
#2 Most of my non-Premium customers are waiting for this Dashboard, have we an ETA even very very estimated?
It would definitively help to manage those conversations.
On point #3, may I know what is the rationale of only allowing full access to self-monitoring data behind a Dynatrace ONE Premium subscription? Since the servers belongs to the customer, it definitely should be made available to the customer as well.Do you also have details of what kind of details will be made available to the customer, with and without ONE Premium subscription?
Self-monitoring environment provides many additional values - as alerting, charting, reports and insights into deep-level of Dynatrace. To understand data you need an assistance from our Dynatrace ONE Premium.
Even if you are not a premium subscriber, don't worry - we've got you covered. Our teams pro-actively check self-monitoring on your behalf. As a non-premium you will get read-only access to charts on a dashboard.
there is a way to monitor your cluster and activegates via Dynetrace - Im working on an article with Andreas Grabner and hopefully we will publish it soon.
