Is it possible for us to use the total sum of the metric traffic in or traffic out? We currently have a need to see the total traffic usage of our hosts for the past 30 days, and we'd like to use a dashboard tile to possibly help us, but when we tried it seemed the auto value and the sum values were the same.

Yes. Using advanced mode you play with metrics expressions.
