Hi everyone,
I am planning to build a custom EF2 integration for our SAP ABAP environment to monitor SAP queues and work processes. The main objective is to fetch monitoring data for transactions like:
SMQ1
SMQ2
Work Process monitoring (SM50/SM66 level details)
Currently, we are already using the SAP GUI and ABAP plugin in Dynatrace, but it does not provide detailed queue or worker process visibility that we are looking for.
Since this is for a Dynatrace Managed environment, I wanted to check if anyone here has already implemented something similar or explored custom integrations for SAP ABAP monitoring.
A few things I wanted guidance on:
Are there any recommended approaches for building custom EF2 integrations for SAP ABAP?
Which SAP function modules/tables are generally preferred for queue and work process monitoring?
Can the same SAP user and role currently used by the SAP GUI/ABAP plugin also be reused for this integration, or are additional authorizations typically required?
Are there any performance or security considerations I should be careful about while polling queue/work process data?
I was unable to find much documentation or implementation guidance specifically around custom SAP ABAP integrations for EF2 extensions, so any suggestions, lessons learned, or architecture recommendations would be really helpful.
Thanks in advance!
