I have a Managed cluster with 3 nodes. In one of them I have started seeing today the following message:
Have several hundred of GB free in disk, so what might this be?
I'll probably be inserting a Support Ticket, but has anyone seen something like this before?
Solved! Go to Solution.

Quick note to anyone that might experience this: deleting the cache of updates seems to have solved the issue for me:
Still can't explain why some 200 GB of space were not enough ...

Support has effectively confirmed that Cassandra data compaction is the responsible for this huge waste of disk resources. So basically the more information you've got in Cassandra, the more unused disk space you have to get. It's basically 100% the size of the Cassandra data. In my case, I solved it (temporarily) by removing the cache of installation executables, but the problem will come back...

In my ENV, I can (sometime) notice the same thing.
Im not able to understand why the size difference is too high between servers.

@AntonioSousa Can you check in one of the nodes? Just click on configure and you will see how the space is being used.
