Purpose of the SSL certificate in Managed cluster

Hi,

Our customer is trying to upload their SSL certificate in Dynatrace Management Console. They say that, they want to upload this certificate to their load balancer.

Isn't the purpose of SSL certificate configuration is to make tenant URL secure, so when admin or other users visit the environment they don't get the "unsecure website" warning in their browser?

Their way of thinking made no sense to me. Am I missing something?

There are 2 use cases for using SSL cert:

1) The one you mentioned - users access a URL and a browser validates Dynatrace Managed's SSL certificate

2) The other that customer has - users access Load balancer's URL. Browser checks LB's SSL cert. But then LB checks Dynatrace Managed SSL cert. So LB has to import Dynatrace Managed cert to trust it.
