I have a doubt. My retention time for requests is 20 days. If I have 2 days left to reach the limit (20 days) and I change the retention time to 10 days, what happens about the 18 days of stored data?
Does Dynatrace compact and increase granularity;
Delete data;
Or keep data for these 18 days and start counting on the new retention period
OBS: My retention time for transaction is market as "ilimited"
Thanks

Dynatrace will drop the data older than 10 days. So if you had 20 day retention set and you decrease it to 10 days, it will drop the data older than 10 days. I think the data compaction happens every hour and also the storage is partitioned per hour.
Not sure what do you expect by increased granularity - but defining shorter retention won't increase the amount of collected service request data. That is defined by other settings. (Number of Captured PP per minute and can be set on cluster, environment and process group level).

Thanks @Julius_Loman
I don't want to increase the granularity, I just wanted to know what would happen to the data if I changed the retention period.
