How to Visualize DB Metrics (Input/Output/Error Trends) via Oracle Extension or Alternate Approach

Shekh

Hi Community,

I’m looking to visualize a set of DB metrics—such as input records, output records, error counts, and their respective trends—in Dynatrace. This data resides in an Oracle database and includes daily values, averages, and calculated differences.

We already have infrastructure mode monitoring enabled on the relevant hosts. I’d like to understand:

  • Is it possible to extract and visualize such data using the Oracle extension in Dynatrace?

  • If not, what would be the recommended method to bring this data into Dynatrace?

  • Additionally, is there a way to represent these values with trendlines or visual alerts based on thresholds?

Any guidance or best practices would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,

Hi,

You can use Oracle extension from ActiveGate.

And creating your own metric events base on those metrics, for alerts.
