IBMi AS400 extension network monitoring

Hi community, 

There are network monitoring metrics in IBMi AS400 extension, I was wondering what is the use case and how can we use it to troubleshoot issues in IBMi hosts?

Hi @leonatay 

You can use that to know if traffic on specific ports is happening, or if a port is open and listening.
Try not to use dynamic ports (49152 to 65535) as those change constantly and wouldn't provide any value monitoring those.

Well the use case is that you have Observability, I can see stats, memory pools, Jobs , queues, Cpu, threads ....quite a bit. We had zero visibility to any of the legacy structures, now we have metrics, dashboards, and visibility. SRE principal One observe all, even if you don't have time to analyze the details.
