There is a very interesting blog post about SNMP device autodiscovery:
https://www.dynatrace.com/news/blog/enhance-network-observability-with-snmp-device-autodiscovery/
It references Dynatrace Managed, but being based on AGs, also makes sense for SaaS of course.
Only additional information I managed to get is on the Hub page.
Has anyone got additional info, or hand-on experience?

It would indeed also work on SaaS, it's just not yet visualized in the SaaS apps.
What information are you looking for specifically on top of what is on the hub and the blog post? It was written by one of the guys on my team and we're happy to help out.

I have a client where this might be helpful. And also lot's of ideas lurking around on how this would be great in a Dynatrace environment
I remember 30 years ago having a sort of network Smartscape, with HP OpenView NNM. Since then, I have seen some particular interesting mappings & discoveries, but they are mostly proprietary.
Not yet asking for a root-cause like there's a switch having problems, or even a faulty cable on port xx of the router, but you get the idea 😂

Purely hypothetically speaking, marry this with a Netflow collector and neighbor discovery and you've got yourself some very nice visualization and root cause possibilities 😉

Important doubt: associated costs? In Managed, is it just metric/log/event ingestion?

It's indeed just that ingestion, and that is very limited as usually you just discover the devices once an hour or day or something like that.
