It is annoying to add in an extra > and search entities if you're just trying to find something globally. At least have some default set of entity types you can customize.
For example, I almost always want to be able to search for a host or IP or service name or application. I don't want to open the search window, hit ">" followed by typing out "entities", hitting enter, then searching for the thing I want to look for. Just keep it as global search or, at minimum, allow you to set a default search category in your user preferences.

Hi @sparks – with release 296 we now support searching for a subset of entities. You can also configure your default search categories. In the next months, we'll release an additional update that will make it much easier to select specific categories. Docs update coming soon to reflect this!
