Creating an Release inventory with IIS

We want to be able to view our releases in the release inventory. At the moment you have the options to add the release metadata through Kubernetes labels and environment variables. Because environment variables aren't doable in our current IIS setup, are there any other ways to do it for IIS?

You could use env-vars at app-pool level.
