Does a Java process have to be restarted when the monitoring options are changed?

Assuming I change the Java monitoring options (under Settings -> Monitoring Overview -> Process groups -> Some Java process -> Edit -> Monitoring options) are these settings effective immediately e.g. without a restart of the process?

And what about creating a custom entry point for a class/method? Do they become effective immediately?
