Metric Key Values in Metric Definition

Why don't metrics shown in the metric explorer show what the integer values mean?  For instance:
Metric name:
Backup state
Metric key:
com.dynatrace.extension.sql-oracle.backup.state

Chart shows the value of "1".    What does that mean?   And what do all the other possible integer values mean.
This is just one of many examples where it would be valuable to show each integer and the meaning within the metric.  Otherwise it is a google and sometimes that doesn't even provide a solid answer.
Am I missing something here?

Thanks

Hi,

Checking extension I would say "1" is correct and "0" not.

Thanks, but again - the documentation is lacking.  There are several replica states for MSSQL and each is represented by an integer.  0-5    Yet there is no documentation on what each replica state is associated with the numeric value.
