New Process Group (PG) even though DT_CLUSTER_ID is the same.

Hello.

I have an existing Process Group (PG) : PG-a.

I restart one of the process which changed a bit os wise, but hase the same DT_CLUSTER_ID environment variable value.

Expected : PG-a may see one PGI missing, but eventually get back its original PGI count. Fine.

Observerd :  PG-a loses one PGI (which triggers an availability alert: bad). A new PG-b is created.

How come using same DT_CLUSTER_ID value, (on same host), Dynatrace creates (some times) new PG ?

Regards.

If the host group is the same (assuming since you wrote it's the same host), please check the OneAgent log file for that process, which contains the information on how Dynatrace identified the process.

Thanks. I will do. I am not used to navigate in the supports archive. Do you know which logs must be scrutinized ?

Depends on the technology... For example, /var/log/dynatrace/oneagent/java/ or others such as nginx, iib, ... On windows its the same, just the folder is located elsewhere in ProgramData.
