Obtain VMware vSAN statistics

Hi,

Can I get VMware vSAN statistics with Dynatrace?

VSAN Performance Service can be used to retrieve data such as IOPS, Throughput, Latency, etc.

Are the similar items that appear as ESXi information on the Dynatrace screen (IOPS, Throughput, Latency) the same as the vSAN statistics?

Hello Kohei,

The VMware integration retrieves the storage performance data from VMware API. This includes IOPS, Throughput, Latency for disk and queue and command aborts. You can review the charts for these metrics combined on the ESXi tile or separated per contributing disks. Your vSAN storage shall be also visible there.

There is now in the Dynatrace Hub an ActiveGate extension dedicated to VMWare vSAN monitoring :

Note: This extension consumes DDU licenses (compared to the classic VMWare monitoring).

The formula is: (5 * <number_of_datastores>  + <number_of_hosts> * <number_of_datastores>) * 525.6 DDUs/year.

What is the current situation with monitoring VMware vSAN?  Is it available in the VMware (remote monitoring) extension or will it be added to this extension or as a separate extension at some point soon?
