Hi All,
Am getting this error when upgrading Oneagents of the 1.281 versions.
OneAgent installation has failed.
Installer returned error code: 1 If the problem persists, please contact support .
There is no documentation on what this error means.
We retried the upgrade post oneagent restart, still same error.
Has anyone faced this error?

Hello Vishnu,
You can either collect the 'OneAgent Diagnostics' from GUI or from command mode.
GUI - Go to host settings and you can find it over there. Hope, your server is still communicating to Dynatrace.
Command Line - https://docs.dynatrace.com/docs/shortlink/oneagentctl#create-support-archive
Once collected, please share the logs to Dynatrace support team for further investigation.

You can also follow the provided approach by @Sajarra as an alternative method for collecting logs either to download it locally, or share it with Dynatrace for further analysis.

Thanks Everyone for the replies, I used "uninstall" script in the agent files and launched the update.
Worked like charm
