ActiveGates on Private synthetic locations

Hello, community!!

We have Dynatrace managed. In order to set a synthetic monitor, we will need private synthetic locations, the problem is that none of our 7 active gates and 1 cluster activegate is detected in the activegates section on the private locations details page.

Any ideas?

Thanks

AG for private locations are not compatible with other modules.
You need to specifically install the AG as synthetic-enabled https://docs.dynatrace.com/docs/shortlink/private-synthetic-location#install

we have a freshly installed cluster active gate , which is not used at all

We faced the same problem, and somebody pointed out the documentation says, it must be dedicated.

the cluster activegate is not used at all for the moment , and will be dedicated for Rum and synthetic

But as you are saying it's not showing up. To be able to run the synthetic, you must install it with a flag during installation.  --enable-synthetic

Step 12 in the documentation  PacoPorro  linked to.

Or maybe im misunderstanding what you are saying.

the cluster activegate is ona linux machine , and we followed the web ui docs which is similar to the one PacoPorro referred to , and yes synthetic is enabled on the cluster activegate as shown in the screen

Synthetic-enabled cluster ActiveGates need to be added to a Cluster location. This can only be done using the API, there is no UI page for this. You can find the steps here: https://docs.dynatrace.com/managed/observe/digital-experience/synthetic-monitoring/private-synthetic...
