the OS recommendations for Linux Synthetic Activegate are the following:
I mainly use Ubuntu, but 16.04 is a pretty old version. I also use CentOS, but it's now at 8.x.
Could someone give an insight into which of them is better supported, and if newer versions are supported, so I use them for further implementations?

We'll soon announce the support of Red Hat 8, Ubuntu 18, and CentOS 8. I'd say Red Hat/Centos is the safest due to our strong partnership with Red Hat.

RedHat 8 is available since 1.195 (early adopter). As Radek said, Ubuntu 18 and CentOS 8 will be available soon as well. Moreover, we are currently working on supporting installation on Ubuntu 20.

CentOS is what we use and works well, and has been stable so far.

I personally use mostly Ubuntu 18 as a Synthetic private location on a daily basis (on development stages).
