Hi, is Dynatrace smart enough for day light savings time?  We are concerned about low traffic for an hour of the day.

As for the client side (browser), Dynatrace data should be displayed properly as it takes TZ automatically from the user's browser.

Backend data are stored in UTC so metrics and baselines shouldn't be affected. Also depends on the aggregation level, you will probably even not see an empty chart bars.

Also fixed in 1.229 SaaS / 1.230 Managed (https://www.dynatrace.com/support/help/whats-new/release-notes/saas/sprint-229/) :

  • A maintenance window set to occur during a daylight saving time change is no longer invalid. (APM-326998)

I can confirm that we have received several low traffic problems involving daylight savings time. This is being dealt with support. I'll confirm later any findings that we get.

Hopefully this can be resolved. I am a DT advocate here, and it is a little awkward to explain that as smart as Davis is, it doesn't understand tzones. I then heard a quip from a senior manager calling it "ED-209". Probably only boomers would understand that one 😆
