Hi team
We are monitoring vsphere configuring Dynatrace to connect to Vcenters and collect data about ESXi hosts and VMs.
My question is about the Virtual Machine monitoring, I would know if without oneagent on the VM and just using the agentless monitoring, is it possible to have an alert when the CPU usage of the VM exceed a threshold.
Kind regards
Antonello

Yes, you can get some CPU, memory, storage, and network alerting just from the VMWare extension. This is configurable in Settings > Anomaly detection > VMWare.

extending Kor01's reply which applies globally to all VMs, you can create metric anomaly detection rules and be more descriptive over which VM's the rules can apply to, taking into account other properties of the VMs (tags, names, etc.)

What about Hypervisor/ESXi Host and Virtual Machine (or Guest) Per Cent Memory utilization using simply the Classic vMware monitoring? How do I alert on that? The metric keys only mention:
| builtin:cloud.vmware.hypervisor.mem.consumed |
| builtin:cloud.vmware.vm.mem.consumed |
How do we find out the amount of MEMORY allocated to the ESXi/Hypervior host and the VM/Guest so a Metric Query can be defined to calculate %Memory Utilization???

Thanks for your reply.
